Proun+ for the 3DS
Proun+ is a racing game that lets you guide a ball along a pipe. That may not sound very exciting but the pipes happen to go through obstacles in the form of geometry and what would seem to be artwork. Rotating around the pipes allows you to dodge the obstructions but it also slows you down. Using the motion control or the circle pad for rotation was an appreciated option but both work equally well. Proun+ offers many tracks and a handful of difficulty settings in the form of differing speeds. I’d be lying if I didn’t admit that I spent most of my time in the Relaxed category.
In addition to racing, there are other modes like endless and points. Endless is an endurance run to see how long you can race without hitting anything and points allows you to build up a score based on the point values of objects along the track. Online leaderboards are also available which makes sense with this being a single player game. Proun+ is currently available on mobile platforms for almost half the price but it plays well on the 3DS and is a worthy addition to your eshop library. So if that’s your only choice, you shouldn’t have any regrets.
