Have Game, Will Play: Ducktales Remastered
It’s Ducktales Remastered, the remake of the beloved Nes/Gameboy Ducktales video game based on the late 80s cartoon of the same name. The game is pretty much the same except for the new HD prettiness, the cutscenes(which I’m okay with), the intro level and some pogo stick control adjustments. I am really enjoying it. However I am not fully understanding why it is so divisive amongst people who all played it in 1989. One common complaint revolves around the cutscenes. Could it be that people are forgetting that it is based on an old cartoon? That being the case, cartoonish cutscenes would be seem appropriate. Perhaps their quantity is the real issue not their mere existence. Furthermore I commend WayForward/Disney for getting many members of the original voice cast but some of them are clearly well passed their prime. Regardless, that level of authenticity is rare and should be recognized. Then there is the ‘this-is-all-I-get?-crowd’ to them I say “it’s Ducktales Remastered not Ducktales rearmed or remadeâ€.
