No longer a genie, is Shantae still ready for an adventure.
Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse
Wayforward’s Shantae series is one that I should be more familiar with. But having never owned a Gameboy Color it was difficult to get my hands on. It also had a very low production run. Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse being available on the 3DS(and now the Wii U) means that potentially anyone can enjoy it. The original Shantae came out for the Gameboy Color so late in the system’s life that the Gameboy Advance was already out.
Wayforward’s latest Shantae adventure offers up more exploration, boss battles, funny dialogue and even multiple endings. While I thoroughly enjoyed my 10+ hours with the game I felt like had I played the previous entries more of the jokes and references wouldn’t have gone over my head. But that’s a risk you run enjoying any trilogy backwards.
