Flippfly’s Race the Sun is an endless flyer, of sorts. You control a solar powered ship and your goal is to score a lot of points and find your place on the ever changing and resetting(~every 12 hours) leaderboards. Initially it felt like every other endless movement game then I started leveling up and acquire new abilities. Batteries to continue flying in the shade, the ability to jump, extending the time for the sun to set, warp zones and even shields are just some of the power-ups available. As you continue to race through the regions you will see small circular objects called tris. Collecting 5 tris extends you score multiplier. Typically level upgrades are gated by collecting a number of tris and/or fulfilling other point or traversal based requirements. Race the Sun, given its genre, is a bit redundant – you will move towards a setting sun every time you play. However the different modes, like the crushingly difficult Apocalypse mode, power ups, a progression system, and leaderboards keep things much more interesting than the typical endless flyer/runner.
Recommendation: Worth a buy – if you’re into a deeper endless movement game and leaderboards
