For whatever reason Nintendo has not released a follow-up to one of my games of the year of 2010, Picross 3D. I was never a fan of 2D Picross but its 3D iteration really spoke to me. The search for a 3DS puzzle game that scratched a similar itch was called off in late February of 2014 with the release of Tappingo on the 3DS eshop.
Tappingo allows players to finish incomplete pixel art puzzles by using numbered blocks as a guide to extend those blocks into lines. It starts you off with some very basic pixel art and then ramps up the difficulty with much larger pieces and many more co-dependent parts. It is ridiculously fun and any fan of puzzle games should definitely give it a try.
Recommendation: Buy it
